BFI Rip It Up – call out for collaborators
- Published:
Rip It Up is a chance to look at how 75 years of youth culture has been reflected on screen in the UK.
At the core of our programme is a series of commissions for people aged between 18 and 30 years old.
We're looking for 10 young people to select a feature film that captures something of British or Welsh youth culture – either from the list below, or a title of your own choosing.
We’d like you to write a 500-word programme note sharing why the film means something to you and why this film should be seen by audiences.
Submit your 500-word entry by Monday 22 June, 5pm to Claire, our Cinema Programme Curator, at [email protected].
Entries can be in Welsh or English.
If you're selected, you'll be asked to:
- submit a short biography for our website
- deliver a short pre-screening introduction (recorded intros will also be considered)
and/or
- lead a post-film discussion.
The winning programme notes will be translated into Welsh for the audience.
The season will take place between July and September.
If you’re successful, we’ll get in touch by Friday 26 June to arrange a date for the introduction and/or the post-film discussion.
Those who are selected will receive a fee of £150.
Submit your 500-word entry by Monday 22 June, 5pm to Claire, our Cinema Programme Curator, at [email protected].
