Opportunity: Assemble Creative Support Worker

Assemble is a free creative training and work experience programme for D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent young people.
We have opportunities for up to 15 trainee Creative Support Workers aged 25 – 30 to shadow the training and support the young people during their work experience.
We're looking for people with experience of working in creative settings, who are keen to learn more about supporting D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent young people in a creative workplace setting. You must be able to commit to attending training, weekly evening sessions, and work experience in Cardiff (see dates below).
You will:
- Attend 2 days of training from National Youth Theatre, covering topics such as Safeguarding and Inclusive Practice.
- Attend weekly evening sessions to get to know the young people and understand their access and support needs.
- Receive further bespoke training based on the needs of the group you are working with
- Support young people during 3 days of work experience
Training at Chapter: 9 & 10 June, 10–6pm
Monday Deaf group at Chapter*: Every Monday between 15 June – 10 August, 6–8pm
Tuesday group at Chapter: Every Tuesday between 16 June – 11 August, 6–8pm
Tuesday group at University of South Wales: Every Tuesday between 16 June – 11 August, 6–8pm
Work experience: 3, 4 & 5 August, 10-6pm
*We’re looking for Deaf Creative Support Workers who are confident BSL users.
This is a trainee role, where you will you be paid expenses of £35 for the training days and £20 expenses per session for the first 4 weeks.
After session 4, you will be offered more training, and from that point onwards you will be paid a half day freelance fee of £75 per session for the final five sessions.
You will be paid a freelance fee £150 per day for the 3 day work experience placement.
Total across the project: £1080
