What does it really take to develop an animated feature in today’s UK industry?
With more studios and filmmakers exploring feature-length storytelling than ever before, this session offers two candid case studies on the long road from idea to screen. From development funding to pitching, markets, co-productions and the realities of getting a project off the ground.
First we’ll be joined by managing director and producer Camillia Deakin. Camilla will share how Lupus Films’ latest feature Kensuke’s Kingdom adapted Michael Morpurgo’s beloved novel into an award-winning animated feature, co-produced with Welsh talent.
Then BAFTA-winning filmmaker Will Anderson will lift the lid on developing an independent animated documentary feature – sharing lessons from his own projects and the realities of trying to get a feature off the ground as an independent filmmaker.
This event will have live captions by Sheryll Holley.
