Are you interested in pop culture, films, television, comics, and music? Come down to learn about the art of zine making and make your very own fanzine!
Zines (pronounced ‘zeen’) are low-cost magazines made by anyone about anything! In this workshop, run by Dr Meena Saverimuttu, you will learn how to make a mini zine, on a simple piece of A4 paper.
Get ready for a cosy and crafty workshop! Choose whatever topic you want and decorate your mini zine to your heart's content! Meena will run you through the brief history of fanzines, then give you a quick tutorial on how you can make your very own 8-page mini zine! With pens, coloured pencils, markers and washi tape, and oh so many stickers, you can have free reign over your creations.
This is a free workshop with tea and coffee included, but spots are limited to 30 participants.
If you would like to zine about something specific and require printed images, please bring your printed pictures or email a word document to SaverimuttuM@cardiff.ac.uk prior to the event and we’ll happily print it out for you!
Our Hosted at Chapter programme is brought to you by our creative associates and local community.
