We’re making some changes to our opening hours

  • Published:

This year, we’re celebrating 55 years of Chapter.

Whilst the year ahead will be a celebration of the many brilliant artists, organisations, audiences and individuals who keep our creative and community offer thriving, we’ve also had to make some difficult decisions to ensure our future is secure. This includes adjusting our operational hours to open later and close earlier.

Our new hours

From Sunday 29 March:

 GalleryCafé KitchenBar
Monday – Wednesday12–5pm
(remains closed on Monday)
9am – 7pm 12*–6pm12–9pm

Sunday12–5pm9am – 7pm  12*–3pm or until sold out12–9pm

*Pastries will be available from 9am.

By concentrating on the daytime and early evening – when most of you spend time here – we can continue to support everyone who comes through our doors.

From Friday 1 May, our building will be open from 9am every day (instead of 8.30am).

Like many organisations across the arts and hospitality sectors, we’re facing a challenging financial landscape. As a charity, we receive some funding from the Arts Council of Wales, but over 90% of our income comes from our ticket sales, room hires, café bar and donations.

Since Covid, audience habits have changed and fewer people are visiting later in the evening. Alongside this, our costs have risen higher and quicker than we can match with earned income.

We want to thank all of you – our audiences, neighbours and friends – for being part of Chapter. Every time you buy a ticket, purchase a cup of tea, make a donation (however small) or become a Chapter Friend, you’re helping us to keep our doors open.

We know times are tough for everyone, so we’re grateful for every visit and every show of support.

Here’s to the next 55 years together!

Donations are the most effective way to help as we receive 100% of what you gift us.
