From hidden histories and family secrets to the choices people make under pressure, this week’s films follow characters facing difficult truths.

Step into the final days of WWII with The Tasters, the gripping true story of the women forced to taste Hitler’s food, while The Bride! reimagines the Frankenstein story in 1930s Chicago. In Sound of Falling and A Pale View of Hills, the past lingers as women wrestle with memory, identity and the secrets families carry. Closer to home, tensions rise in Wasteman, where lives are thrown off course by circumstance and reputation.

Reel Futures present a special screening of The Lunchbox, followed by a live-streamed Q&A with director Ritesh Batra.

The Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme continues with Angry Squad: The Civil Servant and the Seven Swindlers, a darkly comic revenge caper, alongside Sham, exploring accusation, truth and the ripple effects of suspicion.
