What does adopting a seat involve? 

• A personalised engraved plaque on a cinema or theatre seat
• Your dedication in place for five years
• A contribution that supports us as a charity
• A tangible way to show your connection 

Cost: £250 for five years 

Why it matters 

Chapter is a charity and an arts centre at the heart of Cardiff’s cultural and civic life. Ticket sales, café and bar income and public funding don’t cover everything we need to keep our doors open and our programme diverse, accessible and ambitious. 

Adopting a seat helps support: 

• Independent film, theatre, exhibitions and events
• Artists, audiences and communities across Cardiff and beyond
• The long-term sustainability of Chapter as a community hub and public arts space 

It’s also part of how people begin a deeper relationship with us, alongside our Chapter Friends membership, donations and legacy giving. 

Your seat could mark 

• A birthday, anniversary or retirement
• A memorial or tribute
• A long-standing love of cinema or the arts
• A family tradition of coming to Chapter

Adopting a seat is a simple process, and one we’ll support you through. 

We’ll be in touch

Once you’ve made your purchase, a member of our fundraising team will be in touch to talk through the details of your seat. 

We’ll help you choose which cinema or theatre your seat will be in and the wording for your plaque. 

There’s no need to have everything decided in advance; we look forward to hearing your story and helping you shape your dedication.
