COPA Gaming is an independent game studio based in Cardiff creating immersive, story-driven games that blend cinematic quality with distinctive cultural perspectives.

Founder and director Osian Williams shares his journey into the world of game development, and how t heir foundation in film and TV brings a fresh approach to interactive storytelling and visual design.

Osian will share a behind-the-scenes look at COPA's first game, The Department (Trosedd) – a single-player narrative-driven detective game set in Wales, where players investigate crime scenes, interrogate suspects, and draw their own conclusions.

This talk offers insights into how a small studio can build globally competitive IP – and why embracing local culture can be a powerful advantage on the international stage.
