Our temporary closure due to COVID has placed us in a very precarious financial situation.
We survived closure thanks to donations from those of you who clearly love Chapter and wanted to see us survive.
In normal times we raise over 80% of our own income through ticket sales, on room hire and in the café bar, and we re-invest this back in to our programme and activities to support the community. The COVID-enforced closure however, saw us making losses of £250,000 each month and this has had a devastating impact.
As a registered charity your support has never been more crucial to our survival. As we re-open, due to social distancing, our income is likely to be at just a small fraction of the levels we enjoyed previously. This leaves us with a big challenge in terms of funding the shortfall to ensure that we can bring you the very best of Wales’ creativity.
Donations are the most effective way to help as we receive 100% of what you gift us – there is no VAT, and there's an additional opportunity to increase the value of your donation by 25% through Gift Aid. We've been overwhelmed by the levels of support and kindness we’ve already received and we send our heartfelt thanks for your continuing support.
A regular donation is a simple, secure and effective way to support our artistic and education work which benefits thousands of people every year and ensures an inclusive programme of the highest quality.
