In the 1970s, the British state’s activity in Northern Ireland led to the radicalisation Rose Dugdale, an unlikely recruit to the IRA, who pulled off a raid on the Russborough House in County Wicklow and stole priceless paintings by old masters as leverage to free political prisoners. Rose, born into a wealthy banking family who had been one of the stars of her season as a debutante, had become outraged at the idea of Empire and joined the Republican movement after finishing her studies at Oxford. This tense thriller takes us through the art heist and Rose’s journey from heiress to violent political activist.
