Jazz pianist Keith Jarrett's legendary entirely improvised performance in January 1975 nearly didn't happen. The concert was conceived and orchestrated by teenager Vera Brandes. She went from fan to music promoter, booking the Cologne Opera House, selling tickets and convincing the prickly Jarrett to perform when he almost dropped out when his beloved Bösendorfer Imperial Grand piano he was promised was nowhere to be found. A celebration of fandom and music, this is a compelling and entertainingly dynamic film.
