Films at Chapter 19 – 25 June

This week's films span galaxies, volcanic eruptions and the glittering salons of 18th-century Paris.  

Lesbian Space Princess sends Princess Saira on a poppy, colourful queer romp across the cosmos in pursuit of her kidnapped girlfriend, while Erupcja strands Charli XCX in Warsaw after a volcanic eruption derails her romantic plans and sends her traipsing across lofts, clubs and back alleys. 

Closer to home, a young woman's life is given new hope by a chance encounter in Effi O Blaenau, part of our BFI Rip It Up season celebrating 75 years of youth culture. 

And finally, BAFTA Award-winner Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner star in NT Live: Les Liaisons Dangereuses, a thrilling game of love, lies and social warfare, directed by Marianne Elliott.
