As part of Reciprocal Gestures: a season of movement and dance at Chapter, Good News From The Future present Sit.Still a new work-in-progress, developed over the autumn season during their Sunday sessions in the building.
A preview of the work will be performed in the Chapter café at 1:30PM on Sunday 12 November, ahead of the full performance in the theatre at 7:00PM that evening.
Good News From The Future is a company of performers aged 60+, the brainchild of Mike Pearson who created this celebration of ageing after a series of public workshops in the summer of 2014. Drawing on physical theatre exercises, Mike shaped and nurtured the company until his untimely death in 2022. We continue to develop this work with the guidance and support of Simon Thorne and the occasional shake up from Marega Palser. Our message is simple: ageing is about keeping it all going using the experience of time-travelled heads in idiosyncratic, eccentric and carefree choreographies suitable - or unsuitable - for our years!
Using techniques drawn from physical theatre, Good News From The Future celebrates the wisdom and experience of older bodies performing.
